Bhutan
The last Himalayan kingdom

A kingdom that asks you to arrive slowly, and rewards you for it.
Bhutan keeps its tourism deliberately small and measures its success in happiness. KURA arranges it slowly and privately, with guides who open doors to monasteries and valleys that most travellers never see.
Expect long walks, mountain air and quiet evenings in small lodges, with time for conversation, ritual and silence.

Signature moments

01
Monasteries and festivals
A path climbs through pine and prayer flags to a monastery clinging to a cliff. Your guide has arranged a quiet hour inside, and a monk offers butter tea as the chanting begins. When the calendar allows, you may also see a festival in full colour.
02
Himalayan walks
You walk through terraced valleys at a pace that suits you, with a guide who knows the farmers, the shrines and the best view. Lunch is laid out in a meadow, and the way back is lit by the evening sun on the mountains.

03
Lodges of real intimacy
Your lodge holds only a handful of guests. Stone fires, hot-stone baths and local cooking fill the evening, and in the morning the mountains are the first thing you see from the window.
When to go
Spring and autumn offer the clearest skies. Festival dates change every year, so we plan these early.
